I am a student at the same school as Weston and it is pretty remarkable to see a author of a very solid book walking in the halls. This book was an example of good writing. It is full of action and adventure. I would suggest it to high school males. The way the book follows the life of a Spartan named Lycus is really great. You feel as though you are right along side with him during long hot days of training in the mountains or slaying the Persian immortals. You can feel Lycus's emotions when loosing a brother Spartan of achieving a great victory. A Spartan's Journey is a easy read and a great book!!!Product details

I read A Spartan's Journey for my English class and after reading, was surprised by the book. For someone who had just entered high school, the book was shockingly decent. There was definitely room for improvement in the book but overall I thought it was a good beginning for such a young author.
I enjoyed this historical fiction book set in the time of the ancient Spartans. The characters come to life as they learn the ways of a young Spartan. The book has suspense, friendship and conflict. All of these make the book very readable and intriguing for anyone interested in this historical time period. I would definitely recommend this book as a great teen read!
I would recommend this book to males ranging from grade 6 through high school. This book is a tale of competition, challenges, loyalty, and togetherness. As you read you can imagine the battlefield and the weapons used during this time period. The author used colorful language to help you envision yourself there as a spectator or a participant. Well written by a promising young author.
A Spartan's Journey was a decent book that was able to keep my attention . It was interesting to follow Lycus and his adventures as a Roman boy. I did not mind reading this book for my English class and thought it was pretty good. But I did not like how there were so many minor characters, it started to get hard to remember who was who because many of them where only slightly mentioned. Overall, the book had some flaws because of the author being a beginner, but I am still happy I read it.
As a teen this is a great book for me. I loved story of a young spartan learning his way spartan life and becoming a warrior. The author used the real words form sparta for many objects and weapons throughout the book. It's very action filled and a page turner. There are also funny moments throughout the book that will make you laugh. The diverse characters each bring thier own personalities to the book. I highly recomend it for teens and adults both, you will love this book.
I read A Spartan's Journey for my English class and i have to say I was surprisingly impressed by this book. Weston did a great job in writing this book. He was able to create an image in my head of what was happening in the book and also described the scenery well. Weston put a lot of action into this book while putting some history in with it, and he did an excellent job of clearly stating what was happening during the book. In my opinion, there was never a dull moment throughout the book. All in all, I enjoyed reading this exciting book a lot and I would recommend others to read it.
I just read A Spartan's Journey for the first time for my English class, and I was pleasantly surprised. I am not a big fan of history and typically do not enjoy reading it, but Weston's book was educational and entertaining. While reading A Spartan's Journey, I learned about the Spartans and about the time period they were in while being entertained with the story line about Lycus and his adventures. I would recommend this book for people who are looking to learn about the Spartans, but are not always excited as others about reading history.
